As of July 1, 2023, the Province of Ontario has taken over full responsibility for residential Blue Box recycling collection and processing under Ontario Regulation 391/21.
What This Means for You:
- The Municipality of French River no longer manages recycling collection.
- Curbside recycling continues as usual, but it is now delivered by Circular Materials Ontario (CMO) or their contracted service provider.
- Collection days may continue to align with garbage pickup; however, all questions, complaints, or service issues must be directed to the provincial recycling provider.
What Can You Recycle?
Most packaging and printed paper materials can go in your blue box:
- Paper, newspaper, flyers, magazines
- Cardboard and boxboard (flattened)
- Plastic bottles, jugs, tubs, and lids (#1-7)
- Steel/tin food cans, aluminum foil and trays
- Glass bottles and jars (clean, no lids)
🚫 Do NOT place recycling in plastic bags. All materials must be loose in your bin.
