Fire Department Advisory: High to Extreme Fire Danger

The French River Fire Department is advising residents that current weather conditions have resulted in a High to Extreme Fire Danger Rating throughout the Municipality and much of the province.

At this time, there is NO fire ban in effect.

Residents are reminded to exercise extreme caution when conducting any open-air burning and to strictly follow the requirements of the Municipality's Burning By-law.

To help prevent wildfires:

  • Burn only when conditions are safe. NO DAYTIME BURNING
  • Never leave a fire unattended.
  • Keep a means of extinguishing the fire readily available.
  • Ensure the fire is completely extinguished before leaving the area.

The French River Fire Department is actively monitoring conditions in coordination with provincial and regional agency partners. If conditions worsen, additional restrictions or a fire ban may be implemented.

Please continue to monitor the Municipality's website and official communication channels for updates.
