Noëlville Landfill Site Information
Fees & Permits: Some materials require disposal fees. Visit "Fees and related user fees By-law" Schedule “E” - Environmental Services for details.
Garbage Transfer Notice: The Municipality operates two garbage trucks to transfer waste from our transfer sites to the Landfill. From time to time, these trucks break down and require maintenance. In this situation, Residents will be asked to bring their garbage directly to the landfill. Notices will be posted to minimize disruptions.
Access & Check-In
- All visitors must check in with landfill staff before unloading.
- You may be asked to show proof of residency (e.g. driver’s licence or utility bill).
- All loads are subject to inspection.
- Staff will direct you to the proper area for unloading.
Tipping Fees
- Tipping fees apply for specific waste types.
- Payment is required before entering the landfill if fees apply.
- Refer to our Fees & Charges By-law or ask staff for details.
What’s Accepted:
- Household garbage (bagged)
- Large items (furniture, mattresses, appliances)
- Construction waste (e.g. shingles, wood, drywall)
- Scrap metal
- Brush and yard waste
- E-waste (place in designated bin)
- Recyclables (loose, not bagged)
Not Accepted at the Landfill (Unless Otherwise Posted)
- Hazardous waste (only accepted on special event days)
- Waste brought in from outside the municipality
- Waste without staff approval or proper sorting
Rules & Reminders
- Do not dump waste at the gates or outside operating hours
- Always follow directions from the Landfill Staff
- Cardboard must be flattened before disposal
- Access may be restricted for repeat violations
Free Tipping Week
Residents are exempt from Tipping Fees for residential construction and demolition waste during Landfill operating hours once a year. Dates will be posted below and in our bi-annual Newsletter.
Transfer Stations (Residential Use Only)
Transfer stations are available for residential household garbage only.
Hours of Operation: Open Saturday at 6:00 pm - Wednesday at 7:00 am.
• Alban Transfer Station: 867 St. David Street
• Noëlville Transfer Station: 15 St. David Street North
Accepted Waste Types:
✔ Household Garbage ONLY (2-Bag limit PER DAY; do not leave waste or items outside of bins).
Important Notes:
- Transfer Stations are for residential garbage use only.
- Businesses and contractors must dispose of waste directly at the Noëlville Landfill.
- All Transfer Sites have a 2-bag limit per property per day.
- By-law Enforcement Officers may request proof of residency at any time, which is required to use Municipal services.
- Some disposal fees apply; please review the By-law for Fees.
