"PILOT" Recycling Collection Program
The Municipality of French River launched a “PILOT” recycling collection program in the spring of 2022 on the high-density and connecting urban streets of Alban and Noëlville.
Each eligible residence was provided with an information package, collection schedule and blue boxes prior to the start of the program. Click here to see the map and addresses that took part in the recycling collection program.
Recycling at the waste transfer sites was still available to residents not eligible for the program.
"NEW" Curbside Recycling Program
Updated: May 29, 2023
The Municipality is implementing a curbside recycling program for ALL RESIDENTS commencing June 21, 2023. The change in recycling services is an attempt to limit the contamination of recyclable materials, preserve landfill space, support environmental sustainability, and meet Ontario Regulation 391/21 for blue box materials and collection.
Recycling materials will need to be at the end of your driveway bi-weekly by 7 am to ensure collection. There is no limit on the number of recyclable materials that can be collected per household.
Residents will be provided with the confirmed start date, further instructions and two (2) blue boxes that will be dropped off at your place of residence (including seasonal dwellings) in March- April 2023 by a municipal employee. Please share this information if you have tenants. Stay informed by following our Facebook page, where further notices will also be posted.
Residents who have dwellings on Private Roads and (or) Islands will need to contact the Municipality at 1-705-898-2900 ext. 224 or firstname.lastname@example.org to set up access to their recycling shed and coordinate blue box pickup/delivery.
The Municipality will discontinue recycling drop-off at transfer stations as of July 1st, 2023. All recycling bins will be transferred to household waste only.
The landfill site will still be accepting recyclable materials.
